To increase synergy in the area, the Tulum Airport will connect with the Maya Train. Which will have different stations along the Yucatan Peninsula.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador addressed the Tulum Airport in his 3rd Government Report. The President announced the dates on which the construction of the Airport Center will begin and finish.
With this action, the Caribbean is catapulted as the World Destination for the Attraction of Investments in the Real Estate Tourism Sector.
It will conclude in 2023
As mentioned, the Tulum Airport will be built on 1,200 hectares of land and the technical project is underway to begin construction in 2022 and conclude in 2023.
The Studies carried out for the Realization of the Tulum Airport contemplate Environmental Impact Studies, Preservation of Fauna and Flora as well as Location of Possible Archaeological Sites.
Tulum Airport with Military Presence
This Airport will not be exclusively for Passengers, but will also be of a Military Nature, so the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) will participate in its Development.
The New Tulum Airport will be used for Tactical and Operational Military Training Operations, so there will be personnel facilities, as is the case at the Felipe Angeles Airport.
In Santa Lucia, there is military housing, schools, a commercial center and training units.

SEDENA submitted the budget request in February of this year to the SHCP for a total of 12 studies that include, among others: Cost-benefit analyses, economic feasibility and financial evaluation, the orographic and obstacle survey study, architectural planning for the terminal building and a military city to support and provide services to the civilian airport.
As of the second quarter, Sedena already used these resources.
With the Tulum Airport there will already be 3 International Points with which the Beautiful State of Quintana Roo will have Privileged with the Beautiful Waters of the Caribbean.
