A Tight competition to reach Formula 1
The boom for motorsports in Mexico currently has two projects in competition headed by different groups of businessmen who have already submitted to the International Automobile Federation the request to bring to Mexico a second Grand Prix on the calendar for Formula 1 in the Caribe, whose headquarters would be Cancun or the Riviera Maya, which if approved could be from 2024.
The Mexican Caribbean at Full Speed
Regardless of its location, the Formula 1 Project in the Caribbean places the area as a World Level Point without equal.
Puerto Aventuras as Venue
Grupo Constructor Cancun presented to the world governing body of motor racing the construction project of the Riviera Maya Race Track, which will have an investment of three thousand 700 million dollars, in a territory comprising 500 Hectares, which would accommodate 130 thousand fans.
The racetrack would be located in Puerto Aventuras, with a nine-kilometer circuit; this property would have two five-star hotels with 120 rooms each, an 18-hole golf course and a racetrack, and will connect with a Mayan Train station.
"With the technology we will implement in the project, we will have the best automotive complex in the world, comparable only to the existing ones in Dubai and Qatar."
Mario González, director of the Constructor Group, assured.
Cancun Keeps Looking for the Venue
The other proposal is the Cancun Autodrome, which is part of the Cancun 2050 project, and which they have been working on for several years with the support of Antonio Pérez, father of the Mexican driver Sergio Checo Pérez.
Antonio Perez himself assured that the project has been submitted to the International Automobile Federation so that the Cancun Grand Prix can become a reality by the year 2024, since he already has the support of the state government to start the renovations.
With this, Mexico would follow in the footsteps of the United States, which has its main Grand Prix in Austin and, starting next year, will also have the Miami Grand Prix.
The Caribbean Formula 1 venue along with the Mayan Train and the Tulum Airport projects make the area continue to add attractions with enormous potential for the development and promotion of real estate and tourism investment projects.
